BEGINNING CROCHET

Description:  You've never crocheted before?  This is the class for you!  In this class you will make a potholder while learning beginning crochet stitches:  slip-knot, chain stitch (CH), slip stitch (SL ST)  single crochet (SC)  and you will learn to sew a simple seam.  (1) two-hour session.

BEGINNING TECHNIQUE SKILL BUILDING

Description: This class will cover techniques used in knitting and when to use them. Cast on and cast off, decreases, increases, correcting mistakes, gauge, lifelines, materials, yarns, joins and yarn standards. This is a fantastic class for beginners and intermediate knitters. (1) two-hour session.

CAST ON - BIND OFF

Description:  This class will cover techniques used in the Casting On Binding Off book by Leslie Ann Bestor. You will learn three cast-ons & bind-offs that work for most projects. This is a great class for beginner and intermediate knitters.  (1) two-hour session.

BASIC HAT

Description:  This is a great "next step" class after learning Beginning Knitting.
Learn how to knit a basic beanie using circular and double pointed needles. This is a two-session class with homework between classes.  (2) one hour sessions.

Description: Learn the basics of knitted beading. Choose between Beaded Cosmetic Bag or Beaded Scarf. Kits are available for purchase. You must know how to cast on, knit, purl and cast off.

APPLE-A-DAY FINGERLESS MITTS

Description:  These mitts are beautiful and will make a perfect gift!  In this class you will learn to make bobbles using the backward knitting technique, thumb gussets and chart reading. This class will be taught using the Magic Loop method of knitting.  (2) class sessions.  Session 1 is two-hours.  Session 2 is one-hour.

Description:  This beautiful design is full of skill building techniques.  You will learn two handed, two color knitting, two color cables, German twisted cast on, magic loop and the afterthought thumb.  You will have a choice of making mittens or fingerless mitts.  Previous experience of knitting in the round and cables required.  * Continental knitting technique highly recommended*   (2) class sessions.  Session 1 is two-hours.  Session 2 is one-hour.

Description:  The more efficient way to knit!  This class is especially oriented to those who already knit and "throw" their yarn but who wish to change to the "picking" method.  This skill is required for Fair Isle knitting.  (1) two-hour session.

DOUBLE KNITTING TECHNIQUE

Description:  Double knitting produces fabric with no wrong side and has built-in reversible colorwork patterns.  Familiarity with charts and previous experience with colorwork is helpful but not required. (1) three-hour session.

PORTUGUESE KNITTING

Description: Are you suffering from arthritis, carpal tunnel, are your purl stitch rows larger than you knit rows? Do you like learning new ways to knit and purl? HATE to purl? This method is for you. You will hold your yarn around your neck or a pin, which makes the working yarn easily available. Tension is more uniform and requires fewer movements. This style is popular in Greece, Turkey, Egypt and Peru. You will learn how to knit, purl, bind off, yarn over increase, K2 together and SSK decrease and K1, P1 rib. (1) two-hour session.
